Tourist-holiday-rehabilitation complex, Sebastianeum Silesiacum in Kamień Śląski is a recently opened, modern rehabilitation-rest institution. We offer an extensive range of rehabilitation, biological and psycho-spiritual regeneration services. We administer single and double rooms with bathrooms. We own a conference hall and multifunctional halls as well as a modern kitchen and dining room for two hundred people.
The specific character of the Center lies in the usage of healing properties of the Oligocene waters in hydrotherapy according to the method of Father Sebastian Kneipp of Bavaria. He was the one to discover the forgotten masterpiece of a Silesian practicing doctor from Świdnica, Johann Siegemund Hahn, entitled “Science of the power and consequences of the impact of the fresh water on a human body” published in 1749. Basing on this volume, Father developed water treatment methods. Worldwide known and appreciated therapeutic and healing center, established by him, Bad Wörishofen, Germany and the therapy of psychophysical regeneration applied there constitute a standard for us to shape our activity. The climatic conditions of the place remarkably favor the rest and rehabilitation in our Center. The area is rich in forests with a nature reserve, “Kamień Śląski”.
The beautiful herb garden along with a summerhouse is an important place for our institution. There is a historical park of 125 ha right beside. We administer numerous walking and cycling paths. There are convenient conditions for various types of recreational sports around the center. The horse recreation constitutes a particular attraction. We also run hippotherapy.
The center is situated in the direct neighborhood of a palace complex, known especially as being the birthplace of saint Hyacinth of the Odrowąż family. Today it serves as Cultural and ScientificCenter of the Department of Theology of the University of Opole. There is a small passenger airport right behind its walls.
